Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!
Knock it out of the park and get to home base on Wednesday, December 7th as Rob Faucette presents new work which features vintage baseball images as well as new Girl Friend Beer artwork in a show titled “Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow: Forgotten History of the Famous Unknown,” held at Alexander’s for Hair and on view through February.
Using Google Image Search, as well as combing through old auctions and sports memorabilia sites on the internet, Faucette spent hours collecting old photos and illustrations of men playing baseball. Divorced from their original context and transformed into power-hitting images, yesterday's heroes stand at the plate as nameless icons: men in action playing a truly American sport.
Also featured in this new body of work are 10 hand drawn baseball cards featuring players from the Baltimore Peckertracks, sponsored by Girl Friend Beer. This wily cast of characters will be seen together for the first time and you won't want to miss your chance to pick up a new Girl Friend Beer coozie or the chance to score an original piece of artwork!
Alexander's For Hair will be sponsoring a raffle, beer will be provided as well as wine.
Score One for the Home Team!
