Baltimore Peckertracks

Dick Skidmark, the Fearless Leader of the Baltimore Peckertracks, the most famous team never heard of.

Despite his paunch, Shambles was an impeccable first baseman as well as a clunky base-stealer: his slides typically turned to somersaults and rolls into base, spikes out. His characteristic slouch came from his early days as a coal miner in Pennsylvania as a boy.

Chauncey's contribution to the game: He was the first man in baseball to sport a moustache. Some of his team-mates soon follewed, among them: one-eyed pitcher Bo Peepers, Pancake Williams, and Curly Dacus.
